RUNNING ASSESMENT
Understanding the way you walk, run and move, and the impact this can have on your body and overall heath, can help solve a range of health issues before they get worse. Running can often lead to lower limb injuries due to the increased stress placed on these structures. By performing a Gait Analysis our podiatrists are able to asses and treat all foot related injuries or conditions that occur as a result of running.
WHAT IS GAIT ANALYSIS?
Gait simply refers to the way a person walks. An abnormal gait can be caused by one or more parts of the body underperforming, which can lead to imbalances elsewhere in the body when moving. Gait analysis is a system of scientific analysis used by our podiatrists to study how the body moves – or its biomechanics and effects on the feet, hips, lower back and limbs. During a gait analysis your podiatrist will observe, measure and record the body’s movements. Then a diagnosis can be made, and treatments can be prescribed for conditions which may be affecting your ability to walk, or are causing you recurring pain.
